Code of Conduct

Please take the time to read all of this!

This is a site for everyone in the Australian and New Zealand MMA/BJJ community.

Whilst, when your in this community, it can seem quite large, it's actually small...VERY small. Down Under MMA is committed to helping grow this community and these sports that we all love and frankly that's not going to happen if this forum (and any others like it) become a place where people bitch and whine at each other.

There's nothing wrong with a bit of friendly/humourous banter but, without putting too finer point on it, if you want to throw crap at someone or get into some petty BS slanging match, go and find a playground to do it in (we have a 'behind the bike shed' section if you REALLY must get into it with someone but there are still limits - see below).

If, however, you want to get involved, chat with like-minded people, share ideas/techniques/etc, find out about events, and generally help MMA/BJJ grow in this part of the world, then this is the place for you.

Aside from anything else, there isn't the time, resources, or inclination to monitor every comment/thread for suitability and be the 'comments police', so below is a basic (we think, very reasonable) code-of-conduct.

Not wanting to sound like Nazis but, as already mentioned, there's not the time to be the police so if you act like a twat and play up, your registration will just be cancelled. Serious trolls will not be tolerated!

If you have a complaint about someone's online behaviour, email a report (ideally with a link to the post), and it'll be checked out and dealt with ASAP.

Code of conduct:

- Down Under MMA expects all members to behave in a courteous manner at all times.

- The Down Under MMA forum provides the 'Behind the Bike Sheds' section for people to rant and sort out arguments. However, serious ‘Trolling’ (i.e. any inappropriate or offensive posts such as threats, slander, etc or any form of discrimination, bullying, or harassment - e.g. racism, sexism, homophobia, etc) in any form will not be tolerated.

- Dependent on the severity of the incident, perpetrators of behaviour contravening this code-of-conduct risk a warning and/or the termination of their membership of this site/forum.

- Down Under MMA reserves the complete and ultimate right to decide on membership status. In the event of a complaint about a member’s behaviour, all efforts will be made to thoroughly and fairly investigate the event/complaint and a decision will be made. The decision of Down Under MMA is final and no appeal or further communication will be entered into.

If you have any questions or comments regarding this code of conduct, please let us know via the contacts page.
